Islam is a Trick: a World at War
"This place is going to get bombed," said a visitor to our church a few days ago, as she watched an anonymous man stop out by the road and and take pictures of the hangman display. We depict a man with a cross on his shirt being hung by a Moslem man who holds a sign saying "Sharia Law." And a sign nearby says "Islam is a trick."
My response to this visitor was, "Probably."
We have all came to terms with this possibility months ago. Back in July we put the ISLAM IS OF THE DEVIL sign up by the road, in agreement with our Pastor, but also having to face some fear. We are all familiar with the violence of Islam, after all. We have settled in to this war footing we are on. We have been on for years, but now we are even more on the front lines. We deliberately took this place because no one else is doing it - not a whole Christian church, at least. And we hope to inspire more churches, more Christians, along with the hundreds of individuals who support us, to stand with us, to give us more support. Front line soldiers need backup troops.
And note that we have not been bombed. There has been a bit of vandalism, but no one has been assassinated or tortured or stabbed by a passing cyclist (more likely to be a shooting in the US). In Gainesville Florida we still have that much freedom. The police here even go out of their way to protect us.
Yesterday I talked with a man who said, "Better keep your heads down." But the thing is, we are not. We hold our heads up, wear our T-Shirts, go out evangelizing, put pictures and descriptions of us and what we do up on the internet, have an open welcoming church and outreach center (the Lisa Jones House). This is the freedom of Christ. And if we do get bombed or our heads get chopped off, it would rather prove our point, wouldn't it?
And, yes, we are willing to face physical attack and death. Why? Because we don't care about our lives. We would like to live long and healthy and be used by God into our old age, but if we are killed by Moslems, or by anyone else, in the service of God, then there is a great reward, there will be many salvations through that, and we know we are safe with Jesus for eternity because he died on the cross for our sins. He is our Lord. What we do is all for the glory of Christ.
And we are already being bombed. The Devil loves a trick and Islam is his best one. What are his bombs?
- Terrorist attacks are widely credited to a few extremists, not to the problem of the extreme teaching of Islam itself.
- 9/11 was America's own fault for being so 'aggressive' around the world, or so evil in some way.
- No one in the media and in politics wants to offend Moslems or cause any 'unnecessary violence' and the majority of the West, including the Christian church agrees with this caution.
- Islam works hard and with a lot of money to perpetuate their myths and tricks.
- If you speak out about the dangers of Islam and even the more radical challenges of Christ, you get attacked by your own family, friends and neighborhood with accusations of being a cult, of being hateful, racist, extreme, Islamophobic, etc. All not true, all such common labels these days that they mean nothing, all irrational reactions born out of anger and fear. They are excuses to avoid the truth.
So here we are. Such is the state of the world, of society, of the Christian church, of our families and loved ones. What are our options?
My British father lived through the Second World War. He lived in Southampton and his young teenage years were grim, by Hitler's design. Grandpa worked long hours in the naval shipyards, got little sleep at night because of the bombing, never knew who would show up the next day for work, or if his work would even be there. The whole city was bombed by the German bombers night after night in the first years of the war. The bank Granny worked at was destroyed one night, so she was transfered to another branch. Dad slept in a bomb shelter for more than a year - his Mum, Dad and Granny would join him, sitting there in the dark when the bombing was on. One incendiary hit their house but rolled off the roof. Another left a crater in the garden. What were their options?
They could have moved away and tried to hide. But the Navy needed the ships, so they needed Grandpa. They did move Dad's Granny back to Manchester, but the bombing followed her there. They planned to send my father to Canada to cousins there, but days before he was to go, a ship carrying British children to Canada was torpedoed in the Atlantic. All those children were lost. Dad's bags were unpacked and he stayed. The whole of Britain then the whole of the world got caught up in the War anyway.
There was a war on then, there were casualties, military and civilian, and there is a war on now. It is only going to get more intense. It is not the same kind of visible war. It is a trick.

Use the links and resources suggested by these sites, get the books they recommend and read them. It often takes some time for a Moslem to convert to Christianity. It may take some time for you to support us and what we are doing, but keep at it, keep asking. God will show you the way.
