Spoiling the Image of Islam: Truth, Offense, and Betrayal
"He was screaming and blood was pouring from his head during the stoning. After seven minutes he stopped moving," an eyewitness told the BBC. Yesterday Fort Hood, on Tuesday news that Noor Almaleki died, Rifqa Bary sits in solitary fear, and a moderate Moslem in Somalia complains that radical Moslems are spoiling the image of Islam, that these actions have "nothing to do with Islam."
Not true. This has everything to do with Islam. The man is offended because Moslems that obey the violent and oppressive dictates of Islam ignore other teaching, which calls for deceit and betrayal. Or they simply live in a non-Western country where they feel no constraint from non-Islamic laws.
Western laws are the enemy of Islam. To say otherwise is a betrayal of the West and of Christianity. I will not leave that lie for my children and grandchildren, even if Islam itself cannot be destroyed.
People in this City hate our signs and T-shirts. These speak the truth but the quantity of the offense they generate is amazing, as if the residents of this City have personally been betrayed. (We do have support, but this is more subdued.)
And then the children! This seems to be with many people the greatest offense, that our children also want to wear the T-shirts and get people to think about Islam and the truth of Christianity. Read Faith's Story here.
If you think your children should be sheltered from uncomfortable truths in these times, you have no idea what they are already being taught in the schools today. Pick up social science, history and science text books from any public school. The world of 'truth' presented there is laced with political propaganda from an anti-Christian Left. Multi-culturalism ignores the fact that the Judeo-Christian culture must defend itself against Islam and other anti-Christian trends to remain what it is.
And what about the Moslem children all over the world? Girls often living in abusive homes, the lack of education, the twisted education they do receive. What about the young boys and men raised in a culture where violence is honored and praised, where Jihad is respected? What world is presented to them? Is this not betrayal?
Jesus said, "Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!" Matthew 18:5-7
