The Stupid Church and Their Stolen Calling
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
That is why we have to watch what we say. We have to train the young people, train the old people, train everybody. People nowadays are really mouthy. They have not been trained to keep their mouth shut. They have not been trained to be seen and not heard. You see that on Facebook - every Tom, Dick and Harry, every tow year old, every fourteen year old, has got some kind of a mouth, some kind of opinion. I mean, they don’t know beans about life. All they know is what somebody in school told them, what they read out of some kind of book, what they saw on television.
They don’t know zip, but they’ve got an opinion about everything. They mouth off about anything, and you can see how stupid they are because most of it makes no sense at all, actually basically all of it. Like, “God loves everybody.” Such a stupid statement. A statement made by people that don’t think, by people that don’t go the extra mile, who don’t think, “Yea, but…” That is like trusting we are going to deliver the furniture without really doing it. The customer calls up and says, “Where’s my credenza?” And we say, “Well, we’re trusting!”
I understand now why people think the church is stupid, and why people don’t go to church which is full of a bunch of hypocrites, full of a bunch of people that have their head stuck …. in the dirt. We have to do it, speak it out, watch what we say, train the kids, train yourself.
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul;
He who keeps understanding will find good. Proverbs 19:8
Let’s get our wisdom through the Bible, through the Word of God, through what it says. Let’s get wisdom by looking at reality, looking at truth, looking at a particular subject, looking at Islam, looking at God, looking at Christianity, looking at our own life. Look at where we are at, where do we want to go. We only have so much time. Even if you live a long time. What’s a long time? 90? 90 is a pretty long time, but what is 90? And even sadder than 90, you only get one chance. It wouldn’t be too bad if we could get reincarnated, if we could do it again, do it better. But we get just one chance.
We have to keep what God has given us. We have got to be a keeper. We have to hold on to it, keep what we know and not let the Devil steal from us. The church has gotten sidetracked. We no longer preach the Gospel. At major Mega-churches in America, the Pastors say people are no longer getting saved. They are just changing churches. That is my cry I want to see people get saved.
Do you know what happens when you get saved? You don’t just somehow adopt another way of life. You don’t just come here and say, “Well, I like this.” That is not what happens to you! You do not all of a sudden go, “Yeah, sounds right to me.” When you get saved, something happens. I mean, your life changes. You stop doing certain things. You quit it. You don’t do it anymore. You know it’s wrong. You quit. And other things you begin doing. You separate yourself from weird people, from people who only get you in trouble, people who want to do bad things. You separate yourself from those people and you spend time with people who are doing things in the Kingdom of God. That is getting saved.
Do not love sleep, or you will become poor; Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with food. Proverbs 20:13
I like this one. This is one of my favorite ones. I mean, we have not had one verse yet, in our study of the word love, today, that has told us God loves us. You see, God is not quite the baby kisser we thought he was. God likes babies and he kisses them, and if you need a good pat on the head, he’ll pat you on the head and he’ll really mean it. Yeah, he’ll scratch your belly like a dog. But he is not going around kissing babies.
Don’t love sleep or you will be poor. What is sleep? Sleep is the state that the church is in right now - flat on your back, doing nothing. Just doing nothing. Sleep is a type of escape. People who have problems with depression sleep a lot, to escape. It is a state of doing nothing, of not facing reality. It is just laying there, and that is what the church does. The church is just laying there, not facing reality, living in its world, having programs, having parties. It has missed it’s whole mission.
Islam’s mission is to take over America. The founder of CAIR (The Council of American-Islamic Relations) said in 1998, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other religion, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.” (Omar Ahmad, founder of CAIR). They stole our calling! That’s the church’s calling. The church’s calling is not to have a Pumpkin Patch. The church’s calling is: We are the only true religion. Jesus Christ is the only way. We are to dominate the world in the sense that the Bible should be the standard. You see, we are not even shaken up when they take the Ten Commandments away from the Courthouse. It happened in Alabama under the excuse of church and state, and that is the foundation of our country, at least part of it.
Just like abortion - abortion is justified under the heading of Women’s Rights, under the heading of It is My Body. But that is actually a lie. No, this is your body. If you want to go and cut your arm off, then go and cut your arm off. This is your body. But that is not your body. You have a body living in your body, but that body is not your body. That is a separate body, a separate individual. If you want to cut your arm off, cut your head off, go ahead. But that body is not your body. It is its own separate entity that has no one to fight for it. It has no rights.
Do not sleep or you will become poor. The church has to wake up. Open your eyes. Open your eyes and you will begin to see. Just like salvation. All of a sudden you saw it, all of a sudden it was revealed to you. All of a sudden you realized you were a mean ugly nasty person, you were awful, and you needed God. You needed to get saved. You had a bad attitude, bad habits, you were a bad terrible person, you needed God’s salvation power, you got your eyes opened up.
Open up your eyes! Open up your eyes in the Sunshine State and look what’s out there. Open up your eyes in Gainesville and see what’s out there - see the pride, see the intellectualism, see the priorities, Gators, Gator games, plastic, education, cigarettes. Look at the priorities, look at where we are at.
He who loves pleasure will become a poor man; He who loves wine and oil will not become rich. Proverbs 21: 17
This is us. This is the 75% that are too fat, stupid and dishonest to get in the military. We can like it, but we can’t love it. I mean, he who loves pleasure, that’s what that person loves. They love what they like, what makes them feel good. They love that.
Have you ever seen those television programs about the guy who weights 900 lbs and eats 35,000 calories a day? Well that is the epitome of loving pleasure. That is what the Bible is talking about. That is where our society has gone. He who loves pleasure…that is why one of the best words, the most hated word that you can ever tell your children, sometimes our congregation, sometimes yourself, is the word NO. I have been doing this for over thirty years. I know how to make people happy. It is very easy. Just say YES. That’s all you have to do. That’s it.
That’s why politicians say YES. They know we can’t afford it. They know we can’t have a national health program. They know abortion is not right. But they also know abortion makes everybody happy. YES makes them vote for me. YES makes me a good guy. YES makes me friendly. But NO is the word that probably does us more good in the end. Actually, NO. No, I won’t sleep so long. No, I will not be late every day. No, I will not eat that 14th piece of pie. No, I will not do that, I will not say that, I will not got there.
He who loves pleasure will become poor. Our churches are poor because they have become people pleasers, and not God pleasers.
A man who loves wisdom makes his father glad, But he who keeps company with harlots wastes his wealth. Proverbs 29:3
You young people want to make your father glad? Then love wisdom. Don’t love foolishness. Don’t be foolish. Don’t do stupid things. Get rid of bad attitudes. Yo are to love wisdom. Wisdom is not found in the music. Wisdom is not found in being cool. Wisdom is found in the Bible, in obeying the Bible, standing for the Bible, standing for righteousness, standing for what’s right, standing for the church, standing for your parents.
What’s a harlot? It’s the wrong person, wrong people. I would imagine they are smiling people too. They are people who give you want you want to have, say what you want to hear, who beat around the bush, who are never really clear, who act all nice and smiley, but they only want your money or they want you to be with them be involved with them. Hanging around with the wrong people! Young people, hang around with the right people. You shouldn’t have any friends, unless you are going to get them saved, that are a bunch of heathens, that believe in a bunch of weird stuff, who flow with every day society. You would be better off just to hang around with your self.
Talk to your self. Is there anybody here that does not talk to himself. Everybody talks to himself once in a while. It is just weird when somebody sees you doing it. But be careful about the people you hang around with, because those people are going to determine your life. They are going to influence you. Believe me, you won’t influence them. If you have not influenced them within a short period of time, within a reasonable time, it is not going to happen. They have made up their minds. They have made their decision. So the best thing for you to do is get away from them before they finally, sooner or later, influence you.
