Time is a cruel master
One thing that makes it a lot easier to stand up, speak up, move out, is if you realize, in the light of eternity that there is only one thing that is important. The way I understand the Bible, there will be no married, getting married, or kids, all of the things we hold dear right now, whether it be your little baby, husband, wife, job, career. You know, in eternity, none of those things will count. More than likely, you will never see those people again. You won’t have contact with them. You won’t live in one big happy house. It won’t actually make a difference in the light of eternity.
Only one thing will really count. What did you do for God? Nothing else will make a difference. It is important now. It is probably important now to treat it important. It is an important part of this phase of our life, that lasts not 1,000 years, not a million years, but lasts 10, 20, 30, 40, maybe if you make it to the average age, 75 for a male, 78 for a female, and it sometimes varies according to raising and race, but that’s it. That is all you have. And no matter how good it is, that’s it. Everything else does not count.
If you can get a picture of that, it does not mean you should mistreat what you have, but it does make things a whole lot easier. It does put a whole new light on what do I do for God, what do I do for the Kingdom, what do I say, who do I stand up for, how do I invest my time, my life. Because time is the most precious commodity we have. If you are stupid, you can study and learn. If you have a lot of money and you loose it, you can get some more. But once time is gone, once the day is gone, once you have missed the opportunity to speak up, to do something, to say something, that’s it. That particular time, that particular day is gone. It is gone for eternity.
And time is a cruel master. It waits for no one. It doesn’t take into consideration your background or your raising, your having been mistreated or not mistreated. You are sick, you don’t feel good. Time moves on. Time keeps going.
Father God, thank you for today. Thank you for the opportunity we have to hear the Word of God. Father God, let it help us. Let it lead us into the truth, revelation. Let it glorify Jesus, the Kingdom, that we might see the power and authority of the church, that we might see the importance of the church, of rebuilding the church. That we might see that we have been called to be that voice in the wilderness, that we are called to be that person, that body that stands up, that gives people a chance to repent, gives them a chance to change. Father God, help us to move out of trying to protect our life, our reputation, our peace, and help us to stand up, speak out, be a part of God’s end time voice. In Jesus’ name. Amen
